Neymar dedicates PSG goal to Kobe Bryant after NBA legend's tragic death

Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar dedicated his goal to Kobe Bryant after the tragic death of the NBA superstar.

Basketball legend Bryant was killed when his private helicopter crashed and burnt into flames in California on Sunday.

Tributes from across sport have poured in to Bryant with Neymar sending his own emotional message during PSG's Ligue 1 match against Lille on Sunday night.

The Brazilian had opened the scoring in the first half before finding the net from the penalty spot in the second period.

After scoring, Neymar walked over to the cameras and gestured '24' with his fingers, in tribute to Bryant's shirt number.

Lakers legend Bryant visited the PSG training ground in 2017 and hooked up with Neymar and teammate Kylian Mbappe.

Brazilian superstar Neymar uploaded an image of the pair together shortly after the visit, alongside the caption 'legend'.

Having grown up in Italy, Bryant supported AC Milan before adopting Barcelona later in life. He has also developed friendships with Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho.

Bryant had previously admitted football did impact his on-court play.

"In playing soccer growing up, you see the game in a combination of threes, sometimes fours - and how you play within triangles," he said.

"When you receive the ball, you already need a good idea of what is in front of you and what your next move is. I love the idea of how quickly the ball moves and it helped me tremendously in basketball.

"My eye and my brain became accustomed to seeing those combinations.

"I would play soccer, then basketball, then soccer again and it went on for eight years."
