Neymar and the PSG bombshell as TV pundit lifts lid on their major 'problem'

Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar has been labelled a "problem" for the club by one of France's leading football pundits.

RMC's Daniel Riolo claims the Brazilian icon is undermining sporting director Leonardo as the Ligue 1 giants stutter in the opening weeks of the season.

The Champions League runners-up needed a 90th minute Julien Draxler winner against Metz to secure their first points of the season on Wednesday night.

Neymar was absent as he serves a two-game ban for striking Alvaro Gonazalez after alleging the Marseille defender racially abused him.

An investigation has been opened by the LFP but while Neymar has the full backing of PSG in that matter, it appears all may not be well behind the scenes.

Riolo reckons the former Barcelona star's big personality is causing long-term issues outwith Sunday's flashpoint and believes they are threatening to derail Thomas Tuchel's side.

He said: "Leonardo is not able to impose his will. It is because of Neymar. Neymar does what he wants. Neymar is a problem for PSG. He resolves problems & he creates problems."

The 28-year-old flirted with a return to Catalonia over the past 18 months but it's understood Neymar now remains keen on sticking around in Paris for the foreseeable future.

Leonardo previously pushed hard to convince the world's most expensive player to ignore the opportunity to reunite with Lionel Messi and Co.

Neymar failed to net 20 goals for the first time in seven years during the 2019-20 campaign, having missed much of the season through injury, and is already enduring a stop-start beginning to the 2020-21.
