Neymar and Neil Lennon in furious bust-up as Celtic manager clashes with world's most expensive player

Celtic boss Neil Lennon and Samba superstar Neymar were embroiled in a furious touchline war of words during Celtic's clash with PSG.

The 28-year-old won a free-kick on the touchline the Irishman clearly felt was slightly soft.

Lennon appeared to direct some furious invective at one of the PSG players and Neymar obviously felt he was the Hoops boss' target.

The forward turned round to confront the Celtic manager and reacted angrily before being restrained by teammates Leandro Paredes and Mitchel Bakker.

With the pair at least 10 yards apart, there was no danger of the duo actually coming to blows - which many would suggest is just as well for the Brazilian.

Neymar was withdrawn at half-time, but had already done plenty of damage with a good first half showing.

The world's most expensive player was the scourge of the Hoops again in the friendly in Paris, getting an assist and a goal in the first half.

Despite his talent on the pitch though, it'd be a brave man who backed him in a set-to with Lennon.

The Brazilian superstar has form for winding up the Hoops, and has a brilliant record against them too.

Before Tuesday's friendly he'd played against them six times for Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain, winning every contest, and netting seven goals and provided eight assists.

The aggregate score in the six games he's played against Celtic in competitive matches stands at 28-2.

He was famously involved in an spat with former Hoops full-back Tony Ralston in a Champions League match at Celtic Park in 2017.

The Brazilian refused to shake hands with the youngster after his sides 5-0 win at Parkhead.
