Neymar and Kylian Mbappe contract 'complications' as PSG put rivals on red alert

Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has conceded his side are in a "complicated moment" as they look to deal in prized pair Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

The duo both have deals that expire in the summer of 2022 and the world stars are high on the signing lists of the Ligue 1 side's biggest continental rivals.

Barcelona remain huge admirers of Neymar and a deal to take him back to the club could potentially come back into play ahead of elections at the Nou Camp.

Mbappe has made no secret of his admiration for Real Madrid and Liverpool with both expected to be keen on the France World Cup winner if he became available.

But Leonardo is trying to silence speculation but admits the rules have changed for clubs around the world amid the pandemic.

He said: “We’ve started negotiations with Neymar, Mbappé and Di Maria to extend their contracts.

"Remember that PSG suffered financial losses this year, we’re in a complicated moment, it’s not easy... but we’re talking directly with Mbappé and Neymar”

Meanwhile, the former Brazil international admits an agreement with free-scoring loanee Moise Kean is still some way off.

Leonardo added: "We don’t have an option to buy for Moise Kean, unfortunately. He’s here on dry loan from Everton.

"Kean is a great striker also for the future, but loan deals in UK are bit different - buy option is not included in our deal."
