Nexus employee spat at after 'verbal altercation' at Walkergate Metro Station

A Metro worker was spat on after two men became involved in a "verbal altercation" with employees at Walkergate Station.

Police investigating the station assault have now released images of two men they're hoping to speak to, who may be able to help with the probe.

The attack took place at around 4.30pm on March 7.

According to reports, a Nexus employee was spat on after the disturbance at the Newcastle Metro stop.

A police spokesperson said: "It was reported that there was a verbal altercation between the member of staff and two men, which resulted in the employee being spat at."

Images from CCTV show two men officers are now hoping to speak to.

It's understood they were at the station at the time of the assault and police believe they could have information that could assist in the investigation.

The men, or anyone who knows them, are asked to contact police via the ‘Tell Us Something’ page of the Northumbria Police website or by calling 101 quoting log 739 070321.
