Chris Hughton is the early favourite to become the next Watford manager following the sacking of Quique Sanchez Flores.
The Spaniard’s second spell at the club came to an end after his side suffered a 2-1 defeat at relegation rivals Southampton on Saturday.
The result left the Hornets rooted to the bottom of the table, six points from safety after 14 games.
Sanchez Flores was back in charge at Vicarage Road for less than three months, overseeing just 10 league games, with only one win during that time.
The 54-year-old came in to replace Javi Gracia in September, but failed to turn around Watford’s poor start to the season.
All eyes are now on who will become the club’s third permanent manager this season, and it’s former Brighton boss Hughton who leads the way in the early betting, according to Oddschecker.
The 60-year-old is odds on at 4/6 to land the Watford job with SkyBet, and has reportedly already been sounded out as a possible successor, with the club saying a replacement will be appointed "imminently".
Sam Allardyce is second favourite at 6/1, while David Moyes is at 16/1.
Other names in the frame include former Udinese manager Davide Nicola, at 14/1, while ex-Southampton boss Mark Hughes is at 16/1.
Aidy Boothroyd is at 20/1 for a return to Vicarage Road, the same price as Alan Pardew, Gianfranco Zola and Tony Pulis.
