Next Tottenham manager odds: Jose Mourinho favourite after Mauricio Pochettino is sacked

Tottenham sprung a huge surprise on Monday evening when they parted ways with manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentine, who guided the club to their first ever Champions League final and oversaw their move into a new stadium, was sacked after a run of just three wins from 12 Premier League games at the start of the season.

Former Chelsea and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is the big early favourite to takeover, having been out of work since he left Old Trafford in December last year.

Another ex-Chelsea man, Carlo Ancelotti, is the current second favourite. The Italian is Napoli manager, and has previously taken charge of some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Real Madrid, AC Milan and Bayern Munich.

Max Allergi, who is available having left Juventus in the summer, is among the other leading foreign fancies, along with RB Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann.

Should Spurs look closer to home, Eddie Howe of Bournemouth and Brendan Rodgers, who is flying high with Leicester City, are the shortest-priced of any current Premier League managers.

Odds on next permanent Tottenham manager

Jose Mourinho 4/11

Carlo Ancelotti 17/2

Max Allegri 9/1

Julian Nagelsmann 9/1

Eddie Howe 16/1

Brendan Rodgers 16/1

Erik ten Hag 18/1

Rafa Benitez 20/1

Steven Gerrard 20/1
