Julian Nagelsmann and former Tottenham striker Jurgen Klinsmann have been installed as early joint-favourites to replace Jose Mourinho as the club's manager.
Following a whirlwind night that saw Spurs sign up to the controversial European Super League (ESL) breakaway, the north Londoners have now taken action in the dugout.
Mourinho was set to lead Tottenham in the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.
However, the Portuguese - who replaced former manager Mauricio Pochettino in November 2019 - has now been sacked on the eve of that Wembley showpiece.
A number of high-profile candidates have been included in the early betting odds - with RB Leipzig's highly-rated head coach Nagelsmann currently a 7/2 favourite, alongside Klinsmann, who scored 30 goals in 56 appearances for the club as a player, across two spells.
However, while Daniel Levy is thought to be a long-term admirer of the German, 33, any would-be pursuit for him will be met with almost-certain competition.
Indeed, Nagelsmann is also being tipped to replace Hans Flick at Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich after the treble-winning manager announced that he will succeed Joachim Low in charge of the Germany national team.
Other early candidates, according to the bookies, are Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers (5/1) and Ledley King, the former Tottenham captain.
Betfair spokesperson, Sam Rosbottom said: "Following the news of Jose Mourinho's departure, we make Julian Nagelsmann the 7/2 favourite to take over from him and become Tottenham's next permanent manager.
"We have seen plenty of action on this market already, with Spurs underperforming throughout the campaign and the RB Leipzig coach has been a favourite with the punters for quite some time now."
