Manager Steve Bruce has wished long-serving Jack Colback well, as the midfielder departs Newcastle United after spending six years on Tyneside, playing 102 times.
Colback last played a competitive game for the Toon three years ago, and spent two successful spells on loan at Nottingham Forest, where it looked like he would sign a permanent deal.
Despite impressing in the Red of Forest, the club opted against extending his season-long loan, and Colback returned to Newcastle where despiting featuring in pre-season under Bruce, he was subsequently left out of the club's Premier League squad at the beginning of the season.
That decision effectively signalled the end on Tyneside for the 30-year-old former Sunderland midfielder and he now departs to find himself a new club, with a ringing endorsement from Bruce in his ears.
"Many of the players leaving us have been with the club for a long time and, both personally and on behalf of the club, I'd like to thank them,” the Toon boss said.
"I'm sure supporters will join me in appreciating their efforts over the years and we wish them the very best with the next steps in their careers."
