'Next season will be his season' - Jurgen Klopp explains surprise Liverpool inclusion for Barcelona Champions League clash

Jurgen Klopp has explained the surprise inclusion in Liverpool's Champions League squad to take on Barcelona.

Young striker Rhian Brewster is among the 23 players travelling to Spain for the huge semi-final first leg.

The 19-year-old has been out for more than a year with an ankle injury but has spent the last few months on the comeback trail.

And the Reds boss has high hopes for the impact he can make in 2019/20.

Klopp told Liverpoolfc.com: "He is the next really exciting prospect. If you see him training… next season will be his season, his first real season.

“He is now physically an adult, he grew a lot, he worked a lot and the training session today was, to be honest, pretty impressive.

“He is with us, he is our player and we want to have him around.
