Next Scotland manager odds: Bookies' price on Steve Clarke plummet to take over Hampden hot seat

Steve Clarke is today the red-hot favourite to take over as the Scotland boss.

The Kilmarnock gaffer has led the Ayrshire men from relegation certainties to being one win off of a Europa League spot.

And now the bookies' odds would suggest that Hampden beaks are taking notice and are set to offer Clarke the gig as he is now 4/7 favourite on Skybet, with Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes second-favourite at 7/4.

The gaffer has admitted previously that he would take the Scotland job "at some point", but he is also adamant that he is happy at Kilmarnock.

Hibernian boss Paul Heckingbottom brands Kilmarnock defender Alex Bruce 'f*****g diver'

He needs to weigh up his "personal and professional" choices in the summer, but should the Scotland chiefs come calling he may struggle to turn it down.

This week he is gearing up to take on Rangers in a huge match at Rugby Park as his side just need to match Aberdeen's result to finish third for the first time since 1966.

Latest odds:

Steve Clarke - 4/7

Derek McInnes - 7/4

Scot Gemmill - 8/1

David Moyes - 25/1

Malky McKay - 25/1
