Next phase of plans lodged for Birmingham's Equipoint site

The next phase of work to regenerate a former office complex into residential uses has been unveiled.

Birmingham-based developer Urban Village Group has lodged plans for two new buildings at the Equipoint site in Yardley to create 105 one- and two-bedroom apartments alongside 2,465 sq ft of commercial space, parking and a range of communal facilities.

The £40 million first phase, which completed earlier this year, saw the 12-storey Equipoint building converted into 250 new apartments.

Urban Village Group’s chief executive Nick Sellman: "We are extremely proud of the transformation we have delivered of one of our home city’s major landmark office buildings into a fantastic development providing high-quality homes for hundreds of people.

"The scale of this development clearly illustrates our ambitions to become a major force in the private rented sector.

"We are hoping to gain planning consent in September and work would begin on site soon afterwards."
