Next Northern Ireland manager odds - early mover in betting market

There has been an early mover in the next Northern Ireland manager betting market.

It was announced on Wednesday that Michael O'Neill has left his role as international boss.

A number of names have been linked with the post, with Northern Ireland Under 21 boss Ian Baraclough the current favourite with the bookies.

You can get Baraclough at 4/7 with both betfair and Paddy Power.

Austin MacPhee - who was O'Neill's assistant with Northern Ireland - is a steady 3/1 with both those firms, while St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright has remained consistent at 6/1, followed by Irish League pair Oran Kearney (10/1) and David Healy (11/1).

All those prices haven't changed much since confirmation of O'Neill's exit, but there is one man who seems to be attracting interest.

That's Stephen Robinson, a long-time front-runner to succeed O'Neill.

The Motherwell manager was generally around 7/2 earlier today but has been pulled in to 11/8 by both betfair and Paddy Power.

Robinson is a name many Northern Ireland fans would like to see replace O'Neill at the helm.

Irish FA CEO Patrick Nelson wants to have the new manager installed before Northern Ireland's Nations League openers in September.
