The betting odds for the next Kilmarnock manager have been revealed.
It was announced yesterday by the Ayrshire club that Derek McInnes will not take charge of their final game of the season against Hearts.
The 53-year-old has agreed a deal to become the next head coach at Tynecastle. It is expected he will officially be announced on Monday.
Chris Burke will lead Killie for Sunday's match, assisted by Craig Clark.
Now, with McInnes leaving Rugby Park for the final time as a staff member on Thursday, the attention turns to who will succeed him after his three-and-a-half years in charge.
And according to AceOdds, Steven Naismith is the early frontrunner for the job.
Unsurprisingly, the 38-year-old is at the top of the betting list given his strong connections as a former Killie player, and the fact he's been out of coaching since leaving Hearts last September.
Next Kilmarnock manager odds in full:
Steven Naismith 4/9
David Martindale 3/1
Stuart Kettlewell 11/2
John McGlynn 8/1
Des Buckingham 10/1
James Morrison 11/1
Robbie Neilson 12/1
Barry Ferguson 20/1
A Kilmarnock statement, released on Thursday, reads: "It has been agreed between our Board of Directors, Derek McInnes and his staff that the best approach would be if they were not in charge for the final match of the season.
"Paul Sheerin and Alan Archibald will also not be involved – first team preparation and matchday duties will be undertaken by Chris Burke and Craig Clark.
"We look forward to seeing the blue and white army out in force this weekend as we give the players the send-off they deserve. More information will follow in due course."
