NEW DELHI: The successor to outgoing chief minister BS Yediyurappa will be announced in a couple of days, said a senior BJP leader.
The leader said the next chief minister will be decided in the party legislature party meet in Bengaluru for which the observers will be appointed on Monday.

"Decision about the exit of the Lingayat leader Yediyurappa was finalised during the latter’s visit to the national capital when he called on top party leadership, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi," the leader added.
Party leader said there was consensus among all leaders, including Yediyurappa, that he should quit and pave the way for a younger leader to take over.
It will also help the next chief minister to prepare for the assembly polls in 2023.
While Yediyurappa made the announcement to quit, senior BJP leaders had a series of meetings.
National general secretary (in-charge) Karnataka, Arun Singh had a meeting with party president JP Nadd at his parliament office.
