Next has axed its huge Boxing Day sale in shops this year

High street giant Next has announced some devastating news for shoppers about its Boxing Day sale.

Next stores in the UK will be closed on Boxing Day this year, meaning shoppers won't be able to queue up early to get the best deals.

This applies to all Next stores in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

All shoppers can also browse the Next Boxing Day sale online from December 24.

Some customers have also already had early access to the bargains if they were signed up for a Nextpay credit account by December 15.

These shoppers were able to book a VIP browsing slot to scan the discounts before the general public, says the Mirror.

Next has 510 stores in the UK and Ireland - you can locate your nearest one by using its shop finder tool online.

A spokesperson said: "Our Sale starts online on Friday December 24th and our in-store sales starts on Monday December 27th at 6am, in the majority of our UK stores."

The Next Boxing Day sale is one of the most-loved bargain events of the year, with the retailer typically offering at least 50% off clothing, shoes and homeware.
