Next generation of Chelsea talent inspired by young stars breaking into senior side

Chelsea defender Marc Guehi is hoping to emulate his Blues teammates at international level with England, and will get another chance to impress with the England U21s tonight.

Guehi, who captained England to U17 World Cup success in 2017, made his senior Chelsea debut last month and after seeing Mason Mount, Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham all receive call ups from Gareth Southgate, he is waiting for his chance.

"They're role models for me," Guehi. "They're young players doing really well at the moment and that's an incentive for even more young players at Chelsea to know that if you keep working hard, there are opportunities there.

"Hopefully [it's not far for me]. I just need to keep working hard and if I'm called upon, I need to make sure I'm ready."

Aidy Boothroyd's Young Lions return to Euro 2021 qualifying tonight, taking on top of the group Austria at Stadium MK.
