According to Next Gen Stats, Big Ben’s 2.29 average time to throw (TTT) is the quickest in the NFL.
Next Gen Stats has been recording this advanced data point for five seasons, but Pro Football Focus‘ tracking dates back to 2006 — three seasons into Roethlisberger’s career.
PFF tracks the quarterback’s time to throw seven seconds faster at 2.22. The longest time Roethlisberger has taken is 3.11 in 2007. In 2018, his career season, he took 2.48 seconds to release a pass.
Ben is making quick decisions in 2020 and it’s paying off. He’s hit 11 different receivers this season for 1,628 yards, 15 touchdowns and just four interceptions.
