It has been a week since Maurizio Sarri officially left Chelsea and became the head coach of Juventus.
However, in those seven days the Blues are yet to replace the Italian, even though Frank Lampard has been the front runner for some time.
But Chelsea are yet to make an official approach to Derby County for their manager, who spent his first year in management at Pride Park.
Meanwhile, time is ticking away for the Blues to actually make their move for the Blues legend, with Derby looking to actually get their plans in place for another attempt to get promoted into the Premier League.
Lampard is currently on holiday, but is expected to be back with Derby on July 1 for the start of pre-season, before they head on a pre-season tour to America.
It means that the Blues are going to have to make their move this week to try to secure the services of Lampard, with Jody Morris also in the running to return to Stamford Bridge.
Derby will also be looking for candidates to replace Lampard in the coming days, with Chelsea fully expected to finally wrap up the deal soon.
But the clock is properly ticking for Chelsea right now and for club director Marina Granovskaia to get the deal over the line.
