Next Celtic manager odds plus where Eddie Howe and Rafa Benitez rank among shock runners and riders

Leading bookmaker Coral has made John Kennedy their odds-on favourite to become Celtic's manager on a permanent basis.

The assistant boss has been handed the reins after Neil Lennon's resignation was announced on Wednesday morning.

The 37-year-old has worked under Ronny Deila, Brendan Rodgers and the Irishman as he has developed a strong reputation with the club's power brokers.

He's priced at 4-6 with former Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe considered the next most likely to head up next season's rebuild at 4-1.

Scotland boss Steve Clarke is available at 6-1, Frank Lampard is 7-1, while Rafael Benitez is 8-1.

Legendary striker Henrik Larsson, currently and assistant coach to Ronald Koeman at Barcelona is also on the list at 25-1.
