Little more than 24 hours have passed since Bristol Rovers confirmed the sacking of Ben Garner and the bookmakers' odds are starting to shift.
Garner was relieved of his duties after a dismal 4-1 defeat to Fleetwood Town at the Mem on Saturday, which saw the Gas fall to 18th in League One.
The betting market opened on Saturday evening with Rovers' head of recruitment Tommy Widdrington as a 2/1 favourite, and he is now odds-on to get the job.
But Bristol Live understands Rovers do not have an immediate successor to Garner in mind and will welcome applications over the coming days before conducting interviews with candidates.
At this stage, Widdrington is not being considered as a candidate full-time, with both he and the club eager for him to return to his boardroom role.
The odds have been cut significantly for Michael Flynn, too, and the Newport County boss spoke about the Gas vacancy on Quest's EFL highlights show on Saturday. He was a 25/1 shot on Saturday before being backed in to 3/1.
