'Next Arsenal manager!' - The Gunners fans getting excited amid Brendan Rodgers' hint

Some Arsenal fans have a clear message for the Gunners board over Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers.

The former Liverpool and Celtic manager is one of a number of bosses to have been linked with the Arsenal job, following the sacking of Unai Emery on Friday.

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo and former Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri have also been linked, but Rodgers has potentially opened the door to Arsenal after he didn't deny having a release clause in his contract.

After Leicester City's 2-1 win against Everton this afternoon (Sunday), Rodgers was asked whether or not he had such a clause in an interview with Sky Sports.

In response, he said: "Listen, there probably is (a clause) in most manager’s contracts.

Freddie Ljungberg's first press conference as Arsenal boss in full

"It is all hypothetical, with these types of situations.

“My focus is on Leicester. I made a change eight or nine months ago and I came here, and I’ve been so happy to work with these players here, but we still have a lot of work to do.

“Most managers contracts will have something in that, but for me, my only concentration is on Leicester."

But while he said he is currently focused on Leicester, some Arsenal fans have been getting excited about what he said as the Gunners continue their search for a new head coach, following Emery's exit.

Freddie Ljungberg took charge of his first game as interim head coach this afternoon (Sunday), with Arsenal drawing 2-2 with Norwich City at Carrow Road.

However, some Arsenal fans have made their feelings clear about Rodgers on social media, as can be seen below.
