Former Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta is the new favourite to become the next Arsenal manager amid growing pressure on Unai Emery.
The Gunners boss has found himself under increasing pressure in recent weeks amid a poor run of results, with a 2-2 draw with Southampton doing little to appease supporters yesterday (Saturday).
Arsenal needed a 96th minute equaliser from Alexandre Lacazette to rescue a point against the struggling Saints, who came into the game in 19th place in the Premier League and without a top flight victory since September.
But the visitors came close to ending that run as they twice led at the Emirates Stadium, only for Lacazette to net deep into stoppage time to spare the hosts' blushes and salvage a point, although Arsenal fans still booed at the final whistle.
After the game, Emery admitted that he could understand the frustration of the supporters, while he said that he could do better as he reflected on more points dropped at home.
The result increased the pressure on the Spaniard, with some fans calling for a change to be made, after the Gunners' hierarchy recently gave their backing to the former Sevilla boss.
However, with former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino now available after being sacked by Arsenal's north London rivals earlier this week, he has been included among the favourites to replace Emery.

He is not the favourite with bookmakers to become the next Arsenal manager though, with former Gunners midfielder Arteta priced at 5/2 with Sky Bet to take over at the Emirates Stadium.
The 37-year-old, who spent five years with the Gunners between 2011 and 2016, is currently assistant coach at Manchester City, working with Pep Guardiola.
Pochettino is the second favourite at 3/1 to become the next Arsenal boss, with ex-Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez priced at 7/2.
Massimiliano Allegri is 6/1 to replace Emery, while another former Arsenal midfielder, Patrick Vieira, is priced at 6/1 to become the next Gunners boss.
