Newtownards child taken to hospital following collision

A four-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after a collision in Newtownards.

The child was involved in a crash with a motorcyclist.

The air ambulance team touched down in the Lawnbrook Drive area just before 5pm this evening as a crowd watched on.

A spokesperson for Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said they "received a 999 call at 16:42 on Wednesday 24 April following reports that a four-year-old male child had been knocked down in the Lawnbrook Drive area of Newtownards". 

They added: "NIAS dispatched a Rapid Response Paramedic, an Emergency Crew and a doctor to the scene. The Charity Air Ambulance, with a HEMS crew on board, was also tasked to the incident.
