Newton Stewart crafter creates mystery tea cosy pattern for hundreds of knitters to follow

Hundreds of crafters are passing the time during the coronavirus lockdown by following a mystery knitting pattern.

Each week Suzy Cowper is sending out part of a free pattern for a tea cosy to knitters from around the world.

But she has not told them what the pattern is and they will not find out what the tea cosy will look like until they have finished it at the end of the five weeks.

Suzy, who lives in Newton Stewart, said: “It’s aimed at knitters but it’s something that non-knitters or even children can do as it’s quite an easy pattern.

“Each part comes out on a Monday morning and it gives people something to look forward to.”

The mystery tea cosy pattern is available for free at www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mystery-tea-cosy-knit-along.

Suzy has around 200 knitting patterns on her website at www.teacosyfolk.co.uk.
