A hospital radio station for children has been saved thanks to the Newcastle Evening Chronicle. In April, the paper revealed that Radio Lollipop, based in the city's Royal Victoria Infirmary, needed £6,000 to stay on air. That stimulated several donations and boosted a fund-raising effort which ensures the station's future for at least the next two years. (Via icNewcastle - Evening Chronicle)
