Course proven FAUVETTE (2.45, nap) can take advantage of a lenient handicap mark to land the six-furlong Racing Welfare Handicap at Chelmsford on Monday.
The Rae Guest-trained four-year-old has only once been out of the top four in six runs this year – when the ground was too soft for her at Pontefract – and has won twice, including on the Essex course on her penultimate start in November.
Then, Fauvette came with a powerful run to lead inside the final furlong, going clear inside the final 110yds to win comfortably.
She ran slightly below form at Lingfield last time but that was off a 7lb higher mark and she can prove too strong for likely main danger Sir Rodneyredblood.

Later on the card, the Marcus Tregoning-trained ATALANTA BREEZE (3.45, treble) should go well in the Chelmsfordcityracecourse.com Handicap over a mile and three-quarters – especially if first-time blinkers sharpen him up.
The five-year-old has a win, a second and a third in his last three races wearing cheekpieces. The change of headgear may give him the edge today.
At Wolverhampton, six-time course winner HOOFLEPUFF (6.00) is the pick in the Play 4 To Win at Betway Handicap over 1m1f 104yds.
The Ben Ellison-trained five year-old was a close third of 12 over the course and distance a fortnight ago after conceding first run. And previously the selection won well here in November when beating Melakaz by one-and-three-quarter lengths.
