Shepherds Way finished well having been held up during the early stages by Paul Hanagan - who makes way for Paul Mulrennan today - to finish fifth, beaten two and a quarter lengths, to Ready Freddie Go.
That race was run on fast ground, but my selection relished give underfoot to score twice at Haydock Park last summer and Shepherds Way is expected to take a step forward.
