PABLO DEL PUEBLO is fancied to rack up a fourth course victory by beating eight opponents for BetUK Over 40,000 Live Streamed Races Handicap (3.55) at Lingfield on Friday.
The son of Kodiac gained his first three victories – two on Polytrack and one on turf – at the Surrey course during his first spell with Simon Dow.
Pablo Del Pueblo drew a blank in six attempts for Jim Boyle after crossing Epsom last summer – but was back to winning form on his return for Dow at Kempton 10 days ago.
Sent off at 9-2 for a five-furlong handicap, Jack Mitchell’s mount hit the front over a furlong out to beat Em Jay Kay by a length and three-quarters.
The handicapper has reacted with a 5lb rise in the weights but a mark of 67 is still beneath Pablo Del Pueblo’s peak figure, and he can win again.
Earlier at Lingfield, VEGA SICILIA has plenty going for him in the Huge Daily Boosts Only At BetUK Handicap (2.20).
The Harry and Roger Charlton trainee followed a novice-stakes score at Wolverhampton – his first try at a mile and a half – at the start of December with a neck defeat over the same trip at Southwell 10 days ago.
There is more to come and Vega Sicilia, due to nudge 1lb up the weights in the future, is expected to go one better.
