CAPTAIN QUINT (1.40) can cruise to victory in the Virgin Bet Novices' Limited Handicap Chase at Ayr.
The six-year-old has only run four times since finishing second in a point two years ago. After a win over hurdles on his debut racing under Rules, he was sent chasing at Hexham earlier this month after almost a year off the racecourse.
And the gelding put in a fine performance, leading two fences from home, and was always too strong for the runner-up North Parade.
Then three days ago he pitched Craig Nichol out of the saddle at the first fence on his handicap debut at Newcastle, so Rose Dobbin gives her charge another try against five opponents. He should run a big race.

At Southwell, four-year-old ILE DE JERSEY (12.25) is another who is being given a second chance to score in the extended 2m 4f Join Vickers.Bet Free Bet Club Mares' Novices' Handicap Chase, following a mishap on her chasing debut.
Trained by Nicky Henderson, the filly had a Taunton novice handicap chase at her mercy 19 days ago, but landed steeply and fell at the last. With Nico de Boinville in the saddle, she is expected to make amends.
