News that’s enough to make a girl weep

Keynes argued quite strongly that making Germany pay up after the first world war would lead to political and economic disaster (Fear over Greek banks, 19 June). I can’t help feeling that one or two things happened to prove him right. Why is everybody so busy painting themselves into a corner?
