Former BBC and Channel 4 news presenter Tazeen Ahmad has died at the age of 48.
The award-winning journalist worked for BBC News, Channel 4 Dispatches and NBC.
Tazeen's brothers confirmed that she had died after battling cancer, leaving behind two sons.
In a statement obtained by Aljazeera they said: "We remain immensely proud of all she achieved - as a mother, journalist, writer and for her coaching work.
"So many people have been in touch remarking on her powerful ability to turn around people's lives for the better."
They continued: "She was so proud of her two young boys who are left to remember their loving, kind, smart, nurturing, beautiful mama.
"She was in an amazing room filled with sunflowers, cushions, candles and an abundance of love when she passed away, surrounded by her close friends and family."
Ms Ahmad has been described as 'one of the most gifted journalists of her generation.'
In a statement posted to Twitter, the Asian Media Awards shared: "We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Tazeen Ahmad. Tazeen was one of the most gifted journalists of her generation and during her life made an incredible impression on all those who met her. Our sincere condolences to her family, friends and colleagues."
Tributes have also poured in from some of Ms Ahmad's former colleagues.
BBC News' South Asia correspondent Rajini Vaidyanathan wrote: "Deeply saddened Tazeen Ahmad has died. In 2001 when I joined the launch of BBC three news, she was the Presenter. Graceful, kind and inspirational she became a mentor and friend. It meant so much to see a brilliant Asian woman excel. She was a dogged journalist + a role model."
Broadcaster Aldi Ray called Ahmad 'extraordinary' and said she was "committed to real, authentic issues & [had] an amazing ability to tell the stories to a wider audience".
Ahmad started her careers as a reporter on BBC Three's Liquid News before moving to 60 Seconds bulletins and later News Show.
She also carried out investigations for Dispatches on a range of subjects from sex gangs, female jihadis to exposing the beauty industry.
In 2015 Ahmad co-presented documentary The Truth About Child Sex Abuse on BBC Two.
She also penned a book about spending six months undercover at a supermarket checkout.
Away from journalism, Ahmad founded emotional intelligence consultancy EQ Matters.
