News of the World lurks in the shadow of the moonwalk

News International's advertising chutzpah seemingly knows no bounds. First there was Tim Westwood showing more ham than Porky Pig in a cringeworthy TV ad for News of the World and Panini football stickers. Then the Sun launches a blitzkrieg on Wembley with Terry Venables pulling an X Factor audition with a 60-piece orchestra (as you do) singing a World Cup song for their TV campaign. Now NOW's marketing department is seeking global domination and wants to know what Monkey, and y'all, are doing on 25 June at 9.30pm. Moonwalking, that's what. A year on from the death of the white-gloved, tight-panted, falsetto-voiced Michael Jackson and NOTW has managed to rustle up a 36-page magazine for this Sunday. To accompany it there is a bit of a TV ad and a call, globally, to spend 60 seconds moonwalking in a "most fitting tribute" to Jackson. Sign up here. Monkey will do it if News Int promises that Rupert, James and extended family – Freud included – will be. That means video proof.
