Tom Bradby may have been hailed as ITV News at Ten’s saviour, but from this week the programme’s lead anchor is set to become more of a part-time frontman.

Bradby is cutting back his schedule to just three days a week – Julie Etchingham already holds the fort on one day – as he returns to fronting current affairs show The Agenda for its latest run.

Etchingham will be more than happy to take up the slack, having just picked up network presenter of the year at the RTS awards.

Rageh Omar will also be coming off the bench to step into Bradby’s shoes on the odd occasion.

Is Bradby’s much-hyped “battle of the bongs” with the BBC’s Huw Edwards going from boiling point to more of a simmer for the next few months?
