A community has been plunged into shock after the sudden death of a man this morning.
Emergency services were called to the Parkhead Crescent area of Newry on Saturday morning, June 29, following the discovery.
A post mortem will be carried out in due course but police are not treating the death as suspicious.
Carnagat Community Association posted on Facebook: "Very sad news to wake up to this morning that a man has died in the Kickabout Area in Parkhead Crescent, we are thinking of his family at this sad time, may he rest in peace.
"We would ask everyone to please be respectful around the area and let the emergency services carry out their jobs."
Sinn Fein councillor Charlie Casey added: "This is tragic news coming from Parkhead. I would echo the appeal of the Community association. The Emergency Services have once again a harrowing job to do as they ascertain the circumstances involved."
A PSNI spokesman said: "Police attended the sudden death of a man in the Parkhead Crescent area of Newry this morning (Saturday 29th June).
"A post mortem will be conducted in due course to establish the course of death, however, this death is not being treated as suspicious at this time."
