Fast food giant Taco Bell has announced that their Newport store will open this month.
The chain made the announcement on their UK website after much speculation over the past few months.
The store is set to open very soon, with work expected to finish in time for its opening.
Taco Bell has now confirmed that the new Newport site will open before the New Year.
While the Taco Bell UK website has an opening date of December 17, a company spokesperson said this is not the case.
They said: "We don’t currently have a confirmed opening date" but "it will be 2021".
The store will be located at Unit 38 of the Kingsway Centre - replacing the old Select store.
It has not yet been announced what the opening hours of the new store will be.
Work to transform the site has been going on in John Frost Square since the clothing store closed just months ago.

In November, a Taco Bell spokesperson told WalesOnline: "I confirm that Taco Bell Newport is coming soon, and we will be able to share an opening date in the upcoming weeks."
The unit has been stripped and work has been underway to change the store from a retail space to a restaurant and takeaway.
Select have also announced they will be reopening just a few doors down and will do so on Friday.

The branch is yet another branch to open in south Wales, after two Cardiff locations, one in Port Talbot and one in Swansea.
Most recently, a 24-hour drive-thru restaurant opened on Cardiff's Newport Road.
The company has not yet said how many jobs will be created by this new venture, but roles were advertised online and in the Kingsway Centre over the past few weeks.
