Newport County vs West Ham
Carabao Cup 2019-20, second round
Venue: Rodney Parade
Date: Tuesday, August 27th, 2019
Kick-off time: 7:45pm BST
West Ham are seeking a place in the third round of the Carabao Cup when they take on Newport County on Tuesday evening.
The Hammers' Premier League season started slowly with a 5-0 home drubbing against Manchester City followed up by a 1-1 draw at Brighton, but Sebastien Haller's brace earned Manuel Pellegrini a much-needed 3-1 victory at Watford on Saturday.
Now attentions turn to cup matters, and Newport County - fifth in League Two - stand between the Hammers and a place in the third-round draw.
Team news
Albian Ajeti is set to make his West Ham debut. Signed from Basel in the summer, the 22-year-old has yet to feature for the Hammers this season.

Ajeti's £8million arrival was overshadowed by West Ham breaking their transfer record to land Sebastian Haller - who struck twice in the weekend win at Watford.
But manager Pellegrini admitted after picking up three points that Ajeti is in line to play in south Wales, with Haller likely to be rested and Javier Hernandez struggling with a knee injury.
As well as Ajeti's inclusion, Pellegrini is likely to make a string of changes with goalkeeper Roberto pushing for his debut and the likes of Fabian Balbeuna and Carlos Sanchez expected to play some part.
Prediction: Newport County 1-3 West Ham
Expect the Hammers to pick up a victory here. A cup game can catch any side unawares, but Pellegrini looks as though he now has the strength in depth to rotate through the competitions.
