Newport Bus has announced a number of important changes to its services over the busy Christmas period.
With the city centre set to be much busier over the next few weeks as people flock to do their Christmas shopping, meet friends and soak up some of the Christmas atmosphere, public transport will no doubt be more packed than usual.

Newport Council has announced that bus services will be free for those travelling in the city from December 1 to 24.
Council leader Jane Mudd announced at the annual switching on of the Christmas lights last Saturday that free journeys will be available on all journeys that start and end within the city boundaries on services run by a registered operator, in a bid to boost support for local businesses.

There will be a number of alterations to bus services over Christmas. Here's all the information you need to plan your trips over the festive period.
- Friday December 24 (Christmas Eve) - Normal school holiday service with some early finishes
- Saturday December 25 (Christmas Day) - No services
- Sunday December 26 (Boxing Day) - No services
- Monday December 27 (Bank Holiday) - Sunday service
- Tuesday December 28 (Bank Holiday) - Sunday service
- Wednesday December 29 - Normal service
- Thursday December 30 - Normal service
- Friday December 31 (New Year’s Eve) - Normal school holiday service with some early finishes
- Saturday January 1 (New Year’s Day) - No service
- Sunday January 2 - Sunday service
- Monday January 3 (Bank Holiday) - Sunday Service

- T7 Bristol - last departure 5.05pm from Chepstow, 6.05pm from Bristol
