Newport Bus announces big changes to its timetables starting this weekend - here's what you need to know

Newport Bus has announced a number of big changes to its services across the city starting from this weekend.

The transport company has announced that from Sunday, August 8, all Sunday services will be replaced by the fflecsi bus on all Newport routes. Sunday services on routes 29, 30 and T7 will, however, operate as per the current timetable.

The fflecsi service, which allows residents to organise a pick up and drop off near work, shops and homes by request, was originally announced in the Rogerstone and St Julians areas last May as part of a pilot scheme.

A city-wide expansion of the service was already announced last week.

This week's changes will also see the R1 Newport to Risca evening service resume with three hourly services each way at 8.10pm, 9.10pm and 10.10pm from Risca and 8.40pm, 9.40pm and 10.40pm from Newport.

One extra evening service, Monday to Friday will on added on the routes 6/7, 19E, and 42/43.

The service on the 74A/74 will increase to an hourly service Monday to Friday, with an extra evening service for the 74. The X74 service will increase to an hourly service Monday to Saturday.

Timetables on the Newport Bus website have been adjusted, while customers can also plan ahead using its journey planner.

The following routes are affected by the changes:

R1 Risca

6/7 Ringland Alway

19E Malpas Court

42/43 Nash College - Spytty Retail Park

74A/C Glan Llyn - Underwood

X74/74 Chepstow
