Lauren Tait reckons lessons learned at Newmains have prepared her for life working in a top London school.
United sports scientist Tait has landed herself a job as a netball coach at private Highgate School.
But Tait – a Scotland netball international – insists the opportunity wouldn’t have arisen without her experience at Victoria Park.
She said: “The school is one that has very good sports programmes. It’s an interesting step in a new direction.
“Working with Newmains was an unforgettable and invaluable time. It was a great time and I met some really amazing characters.
“I got to work with some really high quality athletes and coaches and a really good chance for me to see a new sport. I thought it was a great way to enhance my future prospects, and a really amazing opportunity.
“I found it was a really good learning experience. To work with such high quality football players really helped me enhance my own development.
“Being a part of Newmains has been so important. It has demonstrated my abilities as a sport scientist and it showed I had academic efficiency.”
Former Glasgow Sirens ace Tait hopes to continue playing despite taking up the new post.
She added: “Being down here allows me to experience English netball, in a new setting and hopefully it can help me enhance my netball abilities.”
