Newmains honour their season's best with range of awards

Newmains Bowling Club’s junior pairs team of Gavin Johnston and Ross Johnston last month won the Lanarkshire Young Bowlers’ Association (LYBA) Pairs competition.

Zoe Marcell reached the singles semi-finals of the same competition.

Meanwhile, the club announced the full list of their 2021 prize-winners this week and they are as follows:

Championship: 1- Sandy Gardner; 2 - John Watson. Presidents: 1 - John Rattray; 2 - David Johnston. All-Winners: 1 - Sandy Gardner; 2 - Ross McGuiness.

Handicap: 1 - David King; 2 - Ross Johnston.

Non-Winners: 1 - Gavin Johnston; 2 - Ross Johnston.

Senior Championship: 1 - Ross McGuiness; 2 - Gary Cook.

Nomination Pairs: 1 - John Rattray and Ross McGuiness; 2 - George Rattray and Charlie Murray.

Club Pairs: 1 - Johnny Wright and Jim Lambe; 2 - Callum Millar and Tom Craig.

Nomination Triples: 1 - Davie Denholm, Johnny Wright and Sandy Gardner; 2 - Charlie Murray, George Dick and Des Kelly.

Club Triples: 1 - John Blair, Davie Denholm and Tom Craig; 2 - Jim Lambe, Ross McGuiness and David Dick.

Two-Bowl Singles: 1 - David Johnston; 2 - George Rattray.

Junior section: Championship: 1 - Gavin Johnston; 2 - Adam Lennie.

Mixed: Nomination Pairs: 1 - Sandy Gardner and Shirley McIntyre; 2 - Craig Johnston and Anne-Marie Johnston.
