Newlyweds who took their daughter out of school for a honeymoon in New York accepted a caution to avoid getting a criminal record.
Janine and Shane Scott thought they would be allowed to remove eight-year-old Elissa from class for the dream £3,000 trip to the USA.
But they returned following the trip from June 11-20 last year to £60 fixed penalty notices and ended up in court, reports Teeside Live.
The couple believed Elissa would be given time away from John The Baptist Primary school in Stockton-on-Tees by headteacher Kerry Coe.
But they were forced to attend court.
They both appeared at Teesside Magistrates' Court in November as it was a strict liability offence, meaning they would end up with criminal records.
However, they were given the option of accepting a caution and paying a "contribution" to Stockton Council.
The case was adjourned to give time for Janine and Shane to decide whether they wanted to accept the council's offer or carry on fighting the court case.
Officials have now confirmed they accepted the offer and "paid legal costs" to the council - the amount was not revealed in court.
Teesside Live contacted Stockton Council but the authority would not divulge the amount they paid.
The case was then withdrawn on December 4.
