Stunned guests watched in horror as a newlywed couple plunged to the ground during a dramatic wedding entrance on a swing hoisted 12ft into the air.
The pair entered their big day on a huge circular swing with fireworks, but something holding the podium snapped and twisted it so they were chucked to the floor.
The couple plunged 12ft from the metal cage to the floor where their shocked guests looked up in horror.
Thankfully they only sustained minor injuries and could carry on with the ceremony 30 minutes later in Raipur, Chhattisgar, on Monday.
Event managers Joe, who organised the ceremony, apologised for the blunder.
An employee said the accident took place during the couple's Sangeet ceremony, a night of celebration where guests and family are invited to dance and sing a few days before the wedding itself.
The employee blamed the botched entrance on "technical issues".
He added: "No one suffered injuries in the incident. The bride and the groom are safe.”
The company will make sure similar incidents don't happen again, he added.
The video was widely shared on social media, where users likened the overkill entrance to a "circus show".
One said: “I don't know why show off needs nowadays in marriages. Nowadays Marriages should be done under supervision of stunt masters... doctors...”
Another added: “Empathise with the couple, but on a serious note what's the need of that acrobatic stuff.”
One US bride had a similarly disastrous wedding day, when she fainted on her groom before her bridal gown was defecated on by a baby nephew - all while she was vomiting.
Hollee Lynnea-Kolenda Darnell, 22, who is from the US city of Minneapolis, Minnesota, got hitched recently to new hubby, Jackson, at a ceremony in Florida.
Though the day started well, a sudden bout of sickness caused her to swoon into her concerned hubby's arms during their vows.
Her worried sweetheart can be heard asking whether she is okay as she comes back around.
Hollee - dressed in a flowing, white bridal gown - shakes her head and stumbles over to the edge of the gazebo, and vomits over the side.
