Newlywed killed, youth injured as 2 two-wheelers collide

BENGALURU: A 26-year-old newlywed lab technician was killed after his bike was allegedly T-boned by a scooter in JP Nagar on Sunday.

The deceased is Mandal Kartik, a resident of BTM Layout and from AP. Kartik worked as a lab technician with Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Trauma and Orthopaedics. According to family sources, Kartik got married in the third week of June.

The scooterist, H Santosh, 29, a resident of Jaraganahalli in JP Nagar 6th Stage, sustained injuries. He works with a private firm in Bannerghatta Road.

The accident occurred at the intersection of JP Nagar 8th Main Road and 3rd Cross around 5.45am. “Santosh’s scooter slammed Kartik’s bike. The collision was so severe the front portions of both vehicles were severely damaged,” said a cop. Santosh is out of danger.
