Newly single Chris Hughes opens up about lockdown insomnia after Jesy Nelson split

Chris Hughes has admitted he's struggling to sleep while in coronavirus lockdown.

The former Love Island star, 27, took to his Instagram stories early on Thursday morning to reveal he didn't sleep at all the night before.

It comes after he split up with Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson after 18-months together.

Writing over the top of a picture of his bed sheets, Chris said he was having anxiety and chest pains that were stopping him from drifting off.

He said: "How have I not slept. My sleep's been so bad the last few weeks all down to my anxiety giving me the worst chest pains.

"The insomnia is so real."

Chris admitted he'd been trying everything to help him sleep.

He added: "I do everything; eye mask, heart water bottle, dark room. Just so weird.

"My body is drained, but my brain is being a brat."

Jesy and Chris called it quits while self-isolating in their separate homes amid the coronavirus lockdown, it's claimed.

"Jesy and Chris split up a couple of weeks ago. It was all very amicable and they're still really good friends," an insider told the Sun.

"They had a chat on the phone about their relationship and both agreed that it felt like it had run its course - they're both absolutely fine."

Jesy had referred to him as "my future husband" on Instagram and they'd discussed getting married and having children.
