Newly promoted Premier League sides circle Leeds United player after relegation to Championship

Leeds United full-back Cody Drameh looks set to be the subject of plenty of transfer interest in the coming months. The 21-year-old has spent the second half of the season on loan at Luton Town, helping the Hatters to promotion.

Drameh was a regular under Rob Edwards after making the switch to Kenilworth Road in January and featured in the play-off final at Wembley against Coventry on Saturday.

The Hatters won on penalties to book their spot in the Premier League and it is now being reported that the top-flight's newest-promoted side wants to turn his loan into a permanent move.

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano says Edwards will now make 'every effort' to secure Drameh's services permanently following their promotion, but they will face competition from Burnley.

The link comes as Leeds United's relegation to the Championship was confirmed at the weekend, following a heavy defeat to Tottenham at Elland Road.

Sam Allardyce's side needed to beat Spurs and hoped for Everton and Leicester defeats against Bournemouth and West Ham respectively but the two sides won, meaning Leeds United will be returning to the second tier.

It remains to be seen what the plans are for Drameh and whether Leeds will look to retain his services for next season having excelled in the Championship. He had actually featured earlier in the season in the Premier League, starting in the 5-2 defeat at Bournemouth.

There could well be a new manager in charge who will decide what's best for the promising youngster.
