Newham stabbing: Man, 18, dies after being stabbed in broad daylight

A teenager was stabbed to death in broad daylight in the latest knife killing to hit the capital.

Police were called to reports of a critically injured man in Chadd Green, east London, at around 3.30pm this afternoon.

Paramedics battled to save the man's life but he tragically passed away at the scene.

Detectives have launched an urgent investigation into the incident and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

On Saturday, building firm boss and grandad Allan Isichei, 69, was knifed just yards from his home in Southall, west London .

A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of murder near the scene and was in hospital under police guard as he was treated for minor injuries.

Yesterday, a man was stabbed to death in Maidstone, Kent, following reports of a 'bloody brawl' outside a nightclub.

The 21-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene despite the best efforts of paramedics.

A Metropolitan Police statement on today's incident read: "An investigation has been launched following the death of a man in Newham.

"Police were called at around 1530hrs on Monday, 26 August, to a critically injured man in Chadd Green, E13.

"Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service and found a man suffering stab injuries.

"The man, believed to be 18 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1633hrs.

"Next of kin have been informed. A post-mortem examination and formal identification will be arranged in due course.

"An urgent investigation has been launched. There has been no arrest at this early stage.

"Any witnesses, or anyone with information, should call police on 101 quoting CAD 5133/aug26.

"To remain anonymous, call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
