Newest Nelsons associate Alistair Haggerty takes a seat in the Leicester office

A specialist business and property disputes lawyer has been announced as the newest associate at the Nelsons Leicester office.

Alistair Haggerty qualified as a solicitor in 2013 and joined Nelsons’ dispute resolution team four years later.

Having trained in-house in the litigation department of a large group of companies, he has since developed his expertise in commercial, business and property disputes.

Nelsons chief executive Stewart Vandermark said: "Alistair has illustrated how with hard work and dedication, our lawyers can build careers here.

"I am looking forward to seeing him continue to develop his specialism and reputation in commercial, business and property disputes."

Alistair said: "Nelsons originally appealed to me because it’s not like your traditional law firm – it provides a great work/life balance and culture, while maintaining a high profile and standards.

“The thing I enjoy most about my role is trying to work out how to achieve the client’s aims, whilst always considering any weakness or issues they may face in doing what they wish to.

"My priorities in my new role are to continue to develop my technical specialism and grow the firm’s profile in Leicester.

"I am looking forward to developing my relationships with our clients and making my mark on the firm and city."
