Newcastle yet to receive suitable offer for Matt Ritchie despite Bournemouth interest

Newcastle United are yet to receive a satisfactory offer for Matt Ritchie - despite firm interest from AFC Bournemouth in the winger.

The former Scotland international is wanted by Jason Tindall on the South Coast but the Cherries would need to match his top-flight wage demands and produce a big fee to tempt Newcastle into a sale.

Ritchie is believed to be keen to play first-team football after being dropped in recent games by Steve Bruce.

Bournemouth made an enquiry earlier this week but have not progressed in the negotiations for the player.

Tindall said: "Listen, it’s wrong for me to comment on other teams’ players. I wouldn’t do that, I don’t think it’s right."
