The roadshow to promote the once in a lifetime holiday contest was in Newcastle at the start of March and a Geordie youth workers is in the final of Jet2's Party Plane competition.
The Jet2 team arrived in the city centre with a Silent Disco to encourage Geordies to apply to win a luxury trip to Majorca and the chance to fill a plane with 99 friends and family to take with them.
Someone who did apply was 35 year old Leanne Risk and she is now one step closer to winning a trip to remember now she has been confirmed as one of the finalists.
Jet2 launched its Party Plane competition to celebrate the arrival of its 100 aircraft into its fleet and toured the UK calling on party-goers to get creative and choose their own party theme to enter the competition.
Leanne submitted her “Majorca’s Memory Maker” Party Plane entry, with a theme of all things Disney. If successful in winning the trip of a lifetime, Leanne and her guests will dress as their favourite Disney character and board their own aircraft before listening to soundtracks from all the Disney films.
Speaking about her entry, Leanne said: “I work in the local community as a youth worker so my weekends can often be taken up by providing new and exciting opportunities to those who are less fortunate, so I would love to dedicate up to half of my spaces to some of the young people and their families that I work with.
"These young people are an asset to the community giving up so much of their time to support our sessions.
“This time away would be the opportunity of a lifetime. I can’t take everyone I love to Disney, but with Jet2holidays’ help I sure can bring a little bit of Disney to those I love.”
The nine finalists from across the UK were chosen by Rylan Clark-Neal who will join the winner as a celebrity host for the holiday.

He said: “I was absolutely blown away by the thousands of entries Jet2holidays received. It was really hard to whittle it down to just nine finalists as the standard of entries was so high.
“I would like to say a huge congratulations to Leanne on making the final and wish her lots of luck. I can’t wait to get on board and join the lucky winner and their friends and family for a weekend of celebrating in sunny Majorca. It’s going to be an unforgettable trip.”
The winning VIP group will jet off from one of the company’s nine UK bases on Friday, April 26 and head to the 4-star Melia Calvia Beach in Majorca for the weekend, where they will make memories to last a lifetime.
